When looking for a Texas REALTOR® to help you sell your home, there are a few things you should take into account. Depending on the type of service you need, look for an agent who is familiar with your area. Your brother may sell real estate in California, but how much does he know about the Texas market? It helps to have someone who knows the market and can help set a reasonable price that is comparable to the rest of the neighborhood.
You might also consider the REALTOR®’s marketing and advertising abilities. Look at their Web site. Are you drawn to the listings? Ask to see fliers or other marketing tools used by the agent to sell homes in the past. These can give you a good idea of what type of marketing plan the broker has in store for you.
Finally, ask for a reference. If you were not referred by a family member or friend, ask the agent for a reference from a previous seller. Knowing a few things about your Texas REALTOR®’s experience and capabilities will make you a better informed consumer.
